Hello- Thanks for writing! There are a lot of alternatives and we believe in diversification as a key strategy. Unfortunately, we are not financial advisers and we can not make financial recommendations. If your money is in a self directed IRA, it really expands the things you can do but you have to be careful to structure them correctly. I would recommend you go to a Self Directed IRA company to understand what you can and cannot do and a Financial Planner, that specializes in off shore to see if the Swiss Annuities are right for you. There have been a lot of regulation changes recently so it is important that anyone you work with is well up to speed on that, and understands your complete financial picture so you are well positioned for your retirement. If retiring abroad is part of that picture, we are happy to assist you in doing that, and certainly with the retirement benefits and the cost of living that some of these countries offer, it can be a terrific part of your diversification. Tax Havens have gone by the wayside, but tax planning is still clearly important, so a good CPA here and in your retirement country is key. We work with some great people.

I have been reading through this blog for quite a while but this is my first message. Sorry upfront if it's too lengthy... I am getting close to retirement, and need to make sure that my retirement income won't run out. I have got plenty of money saved up in my Ira, but I have no desire to buy anything chancy like stocks. I am no expert on money and require some investment recommendations. What form of investment can you suggest? I’ve been reading through a great deal about Swiss annuities lately- & think they appear to be a risk-free option. Is it a fact that they're safe from insolvency and divorce proceedings? Also-- are the tax breaks that they give American investors as nice as advertised?

Thanks for the invitation to your televised nuptial ceremony. You guys looked great, and the new ring as a symbol of your renewed vows is beautiful! Looks like it was a fun event.
